Introduction
Zhu Chuyi, born in 1256 and died in 1327, was from Zhu Jia Lane in Jurong, Jiangsu province. He was the eldest son of Ming Yi Ancestor Zhu Sijiu. His father was Ming Renzu Zhu Shizhen, and his grandfather was Ming Taizu Zhu Yuanzhang. Zhu Chuyi later moved to Xuyi in Sizhou. In the ninth year of Han Lin'er (1363), he was posthumously bestowed the title of Guanglu Dafu and appointed as acting Zhongshu Provincial Governor for Jiangnan and other regions, holding titles such as Pillar of State, Minister of Works, and Duke of Wu; he was married to Wang Shi as his wife. In 1368, when the Ming Dynasty established its capital in Nanjing, Zhu Chuyi was honored as an emperor, with the temple name Xizu and posthumous title Emperor Yu. He was buried in the Ming Ancestor Mausoleum in Xuyi. He had four children: the eldest son, King Shouchun Zhu Wuyi; the second son Zhu Wuer; the youngest son Zhu Youshang; and the fourth son Ming Renzu Zhu Wusi.
