Introduction
Empress Yu (Lady Wang), wife of Ming Xizu Zhu Chuyi, whose birth and death years are unknown. Specific details about her life are not well documented; it is only known that she married Zhu Chuyi and bore three sons: Ming Renzu Zhu Shizhen (also known as Zhu Wusi), Zhu Wuyi, and Zhu W'er. In the ninth year of the Longfeng era (1363), she was posthumously titled Guanglu Daifu, and held various official titles such as acting Zhongshu Province in Jiangnan, Pangzhang Zhengshi, Pillar State (Zhuguo Gong), and Kuangong (Duke of Wu). Lady Wang was bestowed the title of Duke of Wu's wife. In the first year of Hongwu (1368), Emperor Taizu of Ming posthumously honored her as Empress Yu.
