Introduction
Cai Wangting, born in 1991, is currently a core executive responsible for multiple business units under Want Want Group. His father is Cai Yanming, the chairman of Want Want Group, with family members including his elder brother Cai Shaozhong and his second brother Cai Wangjia. His father’s educational philosophy—“enter the family business after high school”—prompted Cai Wangting to participate in practical management of the enterprise from a young age.
Career-wise, Cai Wangting formally joined Want Want Group in 2008, starting as a Level-6 administrative staff member. Following the rule of “one promotion every two years,” he successive held positions such as Assistant to the Secretariat, Regional Manager, Manager, and Deputy General Manager of a business unit, accumulating experience in corporate management and operations. His early experiences emphasized accompanying his father on inspections and field research across various places, which enhanced his industry management capabilities and helped drive sustained revenue growth in the Want Want Beverage division.
In 2018, Cai Wangting took on the family business Bond Coffee, reforming and upgrading it to align with market trends. In 2022, he launched the Light Milk line, targeting a younger consumer group with the “preemptive wellness” concept; while facing the rise of specialty coffee, he advanced the development and product-mix optimization of Bond’s professional coffee line, including packaging formats such as tin cans, bottles, and foil pouches, and products oriented toward Generation Z such as iced coffee and mint coffee. He also implemented marketing-model innovations, leveraging social media channels like Xiaohongshu (Little Red Book) and Douyin (TikTok) to boost brand interaction. In 2022, Want Want Group signed a collaboration with Wencheng County, Zhejiang Province to build the “Water God” production base in Wencheng County and three production lines in the Baizhangji Town Small and Micro Enterprise Park. In August 2022, Want Want established the Wang Jiangshan Win-Win Division, with Cai Wangting serving as Executive Director. In November 2022, the Water God brand made its debut at the Fifth China International Import Expo (CIIE), as a supporting exhibitor and a recommended disinfectant brand for the expo.
In 2023, the brands under Cai Wangting’s direct management generated over 500 million yuan in revenue, overseeing two independent business units. In November, Want Want O-Pao low-sugar version appeared at the Sixth CIIE. At year’s end, he led a restructuring across multiple business segments—including beverages, coffee, and hotels—making Want Want Beverage a core business segment of the group and driving a comprehensive upgrade from R&D to packaging, channels, and branding.
In 2024, Bond Coffee expanded from the ready-to-drink market into the freshly brewed segment, establishing China’s first offline Bond Coffee stores and launching the Freshly Brewed ADC Series Fruit-Peel Coffee. In September, Water God products were demonstrated at the Asia Pet Expo to highlight sterilization and safety features. By September 2024, Cai Wangting was managing four independent business units. At the end of 2024, he planned to roll out roughly 100 stores across major Chinese cities within three years and to push Bond brand new products (such as Mint Coffee, Light Coconut Coffee, Super Coffee), while promoting a low-sugar version of O-Pao beverages and expanding into overseas markets.
In 2025, Cai Wangting invested 500 million yuan to restart the Nanjing Shenwang Hotel, with plans to commence operations in 2027, making it Want Want Group’s first five-star Wang Zai IP-themed hotel. In April, Bond Coffee won the Creative Craft Brand Award at the Fifth New Tea & Coffee Conference, and already operated multiple stores in Shanghai. In May, he spoke at the Second Cross-Strait Chinese Culture Summit. In June, Shanghai stores grew to seven, with daily sales exceeding 1,000 cups. In July, he promoted Bond Coffee, Fruit-Peel Coffee, Water God disinfectant, and the Wang Zai IP-themed hotel in Douyin live broadcasts. On August 8, Bond Café celebrated its one-year anniversary in Shanghai’s Xuhui District, expanding to eight stores in Shanghai’s core commercial districts and completing several rounds of financing. On August 20, Water God appeared again at the Asia Pet Expo. In his personal life, on August 31, 2025, he announced plans to travel to Beijing to watch the September 3 Military Parade, and in early September he photographed with a content creator and mentioned the theme of Chinese national unity in the video.
Awards and honors include being ranked No. 1 on Forbes China’s 2024 list of Top 10 Leading Contributors in Chinese Dining, and being listed in Fortune China’s 40 Under 40 Business Elite (September 2024). In spring 2025, he received the Spring New Dining Innovation Leader award and the 7th iSEE Global Food Innovation Award’s Person of the Year, among other honors.
Philanthropy: during the pandemic, Want Want Group continuously donated Water God products and equipment to frontline anti-epidemic efforts from 2020 to 2022, with total value exceeding 180 million yuan; food donations totaled over 35 million yuan, used for disinfection and protection in hospitals, schools, and communities across multiple provinces.
