Introduction
Shi Boxiong grew up in Hong Kong and studied at George Washington University in the United States, where he pursued International Relations and Economics and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. Early in his career, while with Luo Bingxian Yongdao, he facilitated a six-year lease transaction valued at HK$120 million.
In 2014, he co-founded Workground, a coworking space with two Hong Kong locations, which was later acquired by TusPark WorkHub. He subsequently served as Sales and Business Development Director at Spacious. In 2015, when Deliveroo established its presence in Hong Kong, he was the Sales Manager leading a BD and account management team of about 20 people, responsible for HK market entry and business partnerships. He later became the General Manager of Carousell Hong Kong, overseeing overall business strategy and leading daily operations, marketing, brand, and community activities.
He is currently the APAC General Manager of a UK-based online payments company.
Public service: In January 2023, Shi Boxiong was elected as a member of the Sixth Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
Family and relatives: His grandfather Shi Ziqing was a member of the National Committee of the CPPCC and the deputy director of the Literature and History Materials Committee; he was also a calligrapher, educator, and philanthropist, who invested in factories across the country in the early 1980s. His grandmother Wu Shumin was a music teacher. His father Shi Rongyi served as a member of the Jiangsu CPPCC from the 8th to the 10th terms. His uncle Shi Ronghuai graduated in 1985 from the University of Wisconsin; after returning to Hong Kong, he helped his parents and elder brother run the family business, and he was 36 at the time of the 1997 Hong Kong handover. Another uncle, Shi Rongheng, accompanied his father and elder brother to North Korea from 1980 to the late 1990s to engage in textiles and fabric businesses, later focusing on expanding the family business. Shi Rongxin served as Vice-Chairman of the All-China Youth Federation, Hong Kong region, in 2015. His wife, Wu Qianyu, is a Hong Kong film actress.
Hobbies include hiking and culinary research. Regarding marriage, on September 22, 2022, Wu Qianyu publicly announced their relationship; in November 2023, on the variety show Love’s Study Tour, he stated that they had signed a marriage application in Hong Kong, with the intention to register after the statutory notice period. They held a wedding ceremony on December 16. On August 3, 2024, at 18:00, they held a formal wedding at a historic antique estate in Tuscany, Italy.
Additionally, Shi Boxiong appeared on the reality show Love’s Study Tour, which aired in November 2023.
