Introduction

Pu Shiying, an important figure in modern Chinese history, was born in the early 20th century, though her exact birth date is unknown. She spent her early years in a certain region of China, coming from a family with two sisters: her younger sister Pu Qiongying (later renamed Zhuo Lin), and her older sister Pu Daiying. Her family members influenced her growth and ideological development to some extent.

The July 7th Incident in 1937 triggered the full-scale抗战 (Anti-Japanese War). Under the influence of her older sister Pu Daiying, Pu Shiying and her sister Pu Qiongying began their journey to Yan'an. Due to her poor health at the time, Zhuo Lin initially stayed behind to care for her, but later the two traveled north together. After arriving in Yan'an, to demonstrate their determination and faith in the revolution, the three sisters adopted new names: Pu Shiying changed her name to Lei Xun, and Pu Qiongying also took a new name.

In Yan'an, Pu Shiying joined the Shaanbei Public School in November, where she received systematic training in political thought and revolutionary theory. After graduation, she and her sister Pu Qiongying dedicated themselves to the revolutionary cause led by the Chinese Communist Party. During her revolutionary activities, she exhibited a strong sense of responsibility and action, actively participating in various tasks.

While in Yan'an, Pu Shiying (Lei Xun) embodied the ideals of the revolution, demonstrating a profound sense of responsibility toward her work. She voluntarily undertook labor tasks, including cleaning toilets, reflecting her pragmatic work attitude. Scholar Zheng Yili评价 (evaluates) her behavior as a microcosm of Chinese women's pursuit of liberation, highlighting their active involvement in the revolution and their spirit of self-sacrifice at that time.

Pu Shiying's life mainly centered around the抗日战争 (Anti-Japanese War) period and her subsequent revolutionary activities. Her personal experiences and contributions reflect her loyalty to China's revolutionary cause and her dedication to revolutionary ideals. Although details of her life and later deeds are not well documented, her actions and beliefs during her Yan'an years added an important chapter to the historical process of women's liberation during that era.
