Introduction
Euan Anthony Blair was born on 19 January 1984. He is a British businessman and the co-founder and chief executive of Multiverse, an apprenticeships company. He is the eldest son of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and lawyer Cherie Blair.
Early Life and Education:
Blair was born in London and named after artist Euan Uglow and a school friend of Tony Blair. He attended St Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Primary School and later the London Oratory School in Fulham, London, a Roman Catholic grant-aided school. During his final year at the Oratory, he served as one of four deputy head pupils. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in ancient history from the University of Bristol in 2005, graduating with a 2:1 honors classification.
Early Career:
Following his university studies, Blair spent three months as an unpaid intern with Republican David Dreier and staff of the Rules Committee of the United States House of Representatives. He subsequently worked in the office of Jane Harman, a Democrat known as a "Blue Dog" member of Congress. He ended his internship with Harman in May 2006 after two weeks, citing plans for graduate school and offers from Harvard’s Kennedy School and Yale University as reasons.
In early 2006, Blair completed two weeks of work experience at Finsbury Limited, a London-based public relations firm. In 2008, he obtained a Master’s degree in international relations from Yale University’s MacMillan Center, which he attended after being awarded a scholarship valued at approximately £50,000 (about $100,000).
Career:
In 2016, Euan Blair co-founded WhiteHat with friend Sophie Adelman, a company providing apprenticeships for school leavers. The company was rebranded as Multiverse in 2021. Multiverse is an educational technology enterprise operating in the UK and USA, specializing in data and technology apprenticeships. Its programs range from Level 3, equivalent to three A-Levels, to Level 6, equivalent to a university degree. The company received an "Outstanding" rating from Ofsted in July 2021.
Multiverse raised $4 million in seed funding in 2018, led by Lightspeed Venture Partners. In September 2021, it secured $130 million in a Series C funding round, valuing the company at $875 million. A subsequent Series D round in June 2022 raised $220 million, bringing its valuation to approximately $1.7 billion. Despite rapid growth, the company reported losses in successive years; for the year ending 31 March 2021, it reported a loss of £10.9 million on revenues of £10.1 million. In the financial year ending March 2023, its losses increased to £40.5 million on revenues of £45.2 million.
Recognition:
In 2022, Blair was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to education. He was listed in the Sunday Times Rich List for the first time in May 2024, with an estimated net worth of £375 million. He reappeared on the list in 2025 with a net worth of £350 million.
Media Coverage:
During the planning of the Millennium Dome, Tony Blair suggested the project should pass the "Euan test," reflecting his son's preferences at age 13. Notable media attention includes an incident in 2000 when, at age 16, Blair was found intoxicated in Leicester Square after celebrating GCSE exams. He apologized for this incident, which did not result in prosecution or cautions.
In 2001, Blair applied to Trinity College, Oxford. After a complaint by his parents, the Press Complaints Commission upheld their claim that media coverage represented intrusion. He later attended the University of Bristol.
In 2006, reports stated that Blair worked as a runner on the film "V for Vendetta" during its filming at the Palace of Westminster in 2005. Some commentary suggested his involvement facilitated access, but the location manager denied this, stating Blair was hired after previous collaborations.
Personal Life:
Blair was raised Roman Catholic and was baptized into the faith. In 2005, the press linked him romantically to Luciana Berger; Blair clarified via a fax that she was not and had never been his girlfriend. In 2013, he married Suzanne Ashman, his long-term partner, at All Saints’ Church in Wotton Underwood, Buckinghamshire. The couple has two children and resides in London. In 2022, they reportedly purchased a townhouse in London for £22 million.
