Introduction
François de Fitz-James was a French priest who lived from 1709 to 1764. He was the son of James FitzJames, 1st Duke of Berwick, who was an Anglo-French military leader born in 1670 and died in 1734, and the grandson of James II of England, who reigned from 1685 to 1688 and lived from 1633 to 1701. Anne of Great Britain, Queen of Great Britain and Ireland from 1702 to 1714, was the daughter of James II of England.
