Mao A-min, born in Shanghai, is a renowned Chinese singer and performer. She was born in 1963 into an ordinary family in Shanghai; her father, Mao Jinfu, was a technician at Shanghai Dyeing and Chemical Factory No. 9, and her mother, Xu Chengdi, was a machinist at Shanghai Cotton No. 21 Factory. She has two older brothers and is the youngest child in her family, thus receiving a lot of family affection. Mao A-min displayed exceptional singing talent already during elementary school, and with this talent, she was directly admitted to Wuqil Middle School, a key middle school in Shanghai's Hongkou District. During high school, she studied bel canto for three years, but due to family considerations, she did not pursue a career in entertainment, instead becoming an ordinary worker at Shanghai Dyeing and Chemical Factory No. 7. During this period, she worked alongside Dai Jun, who would later become a famous host.
Mao A-min's singing career began in 1985 when she released her first solo album, "Hot Coffee," officially entering the music industry. In the same year, she was admitted to the Frontline Song and Dance Troupe of the Nanjing Military Region, becoming the troupe’s solo singer. In 1986, she released the album "Lost Girl" and participated in numerous national singing competitions, gradually gaining public recognition. She has also appeared on Hong Kong's TVB, raising funds for charitable causes through her singing.
Mao A-min has been a main performer in many major festivals and events, including the CCTV Spring Festival Gala, the opening and closing ceremonies of the Asian Games, among others. Her singing style is versatile, ranging from deeply emotional to passionately energetic, earning widespread admiration. Besides her musical achievements, she actively participates in social welfare activities, frequently raising funds for disaster areas and being honored as a "Love Ambassador."

In 2003, Mao A-min married businessman Jie Zhikun, and they have one daughter and one son.
