Ann Peto was the wife of James Alexander Campbell, a Scottish businessman and politician. James Alexander Campbell was the son of Janet Bannerman, who was also the mother of Henry Campbell-Bannerman, a British Prime Minister from 1905 to 1908. Janet Bannerman died in 1873, and Ann Peto died in 1887.
