Emily Read

Emily Read was a United States writer who lived from 1829 to 1910. She was the daughter of Louise Dorsey Read and the granddaughter of Louisa Gertrude Read Pierce. Her great-grandfather was Benjamin Pierce, an American politician, and her great-great-grandfather was Benjamin Kendrick Pierce, a United States Army officer. Franklin Pierce, who served as President of the United States from 1853 to 1857, was her great-great-uncle.
