Introduction
Malcolm Macmillan, born in 1823, was a Scottish publisher and the father of Daniel Macmillan. Daniel Macmillan, in turn, was the father of Maurice Crawford Macmillan, who lived from 1853 to 1936. Maurice Crawford Macmillan was the father of Harold Macmillan, who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1957 to 1963.
