Introduction

Li Xinqi was born in Los Angeles, USA, in 2000. Her father is the famous Chinese gymnast Li Xiaopeng, an Olympic gold medalist and a fifth-generation inheritor of the Li family legacy in Chinese gymnastics. Her mother is Li Anqi, a former member of the national gymnastics team and the daughter of world champion Li Xiaoping, so she also has a gymnastics background. On May 11, 2016, she was born in the United States. Her family also includes a younger brother, Oreo, who was born in the U.S. in 2016.

Li Xinqi’s public appearances began in May 2012: just after her 100-day celebration she appeared with her parents on the TV program Lu Yu Has an Appointment (鲁豫有约), showing her childhood charm. On April 30, 2013, she accompanied her father Li Xiaopeng to an arts event in Beijing. In May of the same year she appeared with her father at the State General Administration of Sports training hall to take part in Zhejiang TV’s program China Star Jump (中国星跳跃). On June 28 she appeared with her mother on the live show Thank God You Came (谢天谢地你来啦) to cheer on her father’s first on-camera performance.

In 2014 she took part in Zhejiang TV’s celebrity parent–child reality show Dad Is Back (Season 1) (爸爸回来了第一季), showing multiple sides of family life. On May 14 of that year her family recorded Very Quiet Distance (非常静距离) in Beijing. In July she and her father did a photoshoot for Fashion Travel magazine (时尚旅游) and later recorded Lu Yu Has an Appointment again. In August she accompanied her father Li Xiaopeng to the “Happy Ping Pong” nationwide promotion PK competition. On September 23 she appeared with her parents in Changsha to film Happy Camp (快乐大本营).

From 2015 onward, Li Xinqi continued to participate in Dad Is Back (Season 2) and drew attention for her performances. In November 2015 she appeared as a celebrity parent–child guest on the travel program Set Off With Me (跟我出发), traveling on camera with her father and displaying family interactions. By 2023 she represented the Hong Kong, China Skating Federation in figure skating competitions, expanding into another sport.

She has also appeared in various magazine shoots, including Mami Baby (妈咪宝贝) and Youjia Pictorial (优家画报), showcasing a range of images. Her lively performances on variety shows earned her the nickname “the Cute Goddess” (萌神). The public generally believes she was born with the talent of a gymnast: at two and a half she could complete basic moves such as a front somersault and pull-ups, and she demonstrated “balance beam” skills on the sofa.
