Rev. Canon Henry Cockayne Cust (28 September 1780 – 19 May 1861) was a religious figure who served as a Canon of Windsor from 1813 until his death in 1861.

**Origins**

Henry Cockayne Cust was born in 1780 as a younger son of Brownlow Cust, 1st Baron Brownlow (1744–1807), and his wife Frances Bankes. Frances was the daughter of Sir Henry Bankes of Wimbledon, Surrey. He had several notable brothers, including John Cust, 1st Earl Brownlow; Peregrine Cust; Sir Edward Cust, 1st Baronet; and William Cust.

**Education and Career**

He received his education at Trinity College, Cambridge. In 1806, he was appointed Rector of Cockayne Hatley in Bedfordshire and also became Rector of Sywell in Northamptonshire the same year. In 1813, he was appointed to the first stall in St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, where he served until 1861.

**Marriage and Children**

Henry Cockayne Cust married Lady Anna Maria Elizabeth Needham in 1816. Lady Anna was the daughter of Francis Needham, 1st Earl of Kilmorey. The couple had four children, comprising two sons and two daughters:

- **Henry Cockayne-Cust (1819–1884):** He adopted the arms and the surname Cockayne. He was a British Conservative Party politician.

- **Harry Cust (1861–1917):** The eldest son, known for his roles as a politician, socialite, and journalist.

- **Adelbert Cockayne-Cust (1867–1927):** He became the 5th Baron Brownlow. After the death of his elder brother, he inherited the Brownlow barony in 1921 from their childless second cousin, Adelbert Brownlow-Cust, 3rd Earl Brownlow, 4th Baron Brownlow.

- **Robert Needham Cust (1821–1909):** A colonial administrator and judge.

- **Sir Reginald Cust (1828–1913):** A barrister.

- **Eleanor Katherine Cust (1823–1856):** She married Walter Scott Seton-Karr, an author and a godson of Sir Walter Scott.

- **Georgiana Anne Cust (1825–1907):** She married Reverend Isaac Taylor, Canon of York.
