Ye Yusheng was the father of mainland Chinese actor You Benchang, with ancestral roots in Nanjing.

Together with his wife, Ye Zhou, he lived in Taixian, Jiangsu Province, raising three daughters and two sons. His second son, Ye Benchang, later changed his surname and became known as You Benchang.

In family life, Ye Yusheng played an important role in his children's upbringing. On September 16, 1933, his son You Benchang was born. During his childhood, a fortune-teller predicted that he would not live past the age of 13 unless he entered monastic life. To save their son's life, Ye Yusheng and his wife made the decision to send him to Fazang Temple in Shanghai at the age of six, where he was ordained under Master Xingci and given the Dharma name "Chengpei."

Although details of Ye Yusheng's personal life are limited, his choices and decisions as a father deeply influenced You Benchang's early years and indirectly shaped his resilience and artistic achievements later in life.
