Introduction
Liu Yajun is the fourth son of Liu Jiande and Chen Yuxiang from Su County, Anhui Province. Liu Jiande was a veteran of the New Fourth Army who later served as Deputy Political Commissar of the Logistics Department of the Lanzhou Military Region, while Chen Yuxiang, originally from Yishan Village in Cangnan County, Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province, served as Chair of the Trade Union of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China in Gansu Province. Liu Yajun’s brothers achieved prominence in military and academic fields: his eldest brother Liu Yazhou was an Air Force General, his second brother Liu Yasu a PLA Major General, his third brother Liu Yawei settled in the United States and pursued a career in political science and China studies, and his fifth brother Liu Yawu was a Senior Colonel in the Air Force who once served as Political Commissar of the 5th Air Division. Unlike his brothers, Liu Yajun devoted himself to the field of education and technology and chose to settle abroad, with his career focusing more on academia and industry.
