Introduction
Li Maofang, courtesy name unknown, was born in an unspecified year and died in 1424. His ancestral home was Shucheng. He once held the title of Marquis of Fuyang during the Ming Dynasty and was the grandson of Ming Chengzu. His father, Li Rang, was the husband of Princess Yongping, making Li Maofang his son. After Li Rang's death, Li Maofang inherited the Marquis of Fuyang title. After Emperor Renzong of Ming ascended the throne, due to Li Maofang and his mother, Princess Yongping, being involved in conspiracy events during Ming Chengzu’s reign, they were demoted to commoners, and the imperial decrees granted to Li Rang’s family for three generations were revoked. In the same year, Li Maofang passed away. In the first year of the Tianshun era (1457), Emperor Yingzong issued an imperial decree to enfeoff his son, Li Yu, as a count. During the Chenghua era, Emperor Xianzong appointed Li Qin, the son of Li Maofang, as the commandant of Changling Guard.
