Yan Huiming

Yan Huiming was born in Italy and is the eighth of nine siblings. Her sister is the Hong Kong actress Mimi Xue (Yan Huiling). Around 1982 she met Xu Shaoqiang; the two became a couple the same year while Xu was filming the Thai film 养鬼. Xu was married with children at the time, and Yan Huiming was pregnant, giving birth to a son first and then a daughter in 1985. In 1986 they planned to marry but did not complete the formalities.

Yan Huiming’s acting career began in 1979 with the TVB series 亲情, where she played Rong Jiaqi, alongside actors such as Chow Yun-fat. In 2001 she starred in TVB’s time-travel drama 寻秦记 alongside Louis Koo (古天乐), Sun Yuen-wai (宣萱), Lam Fung (林峯), and others, playing Zhao Ya. In 2002 she appeared in the costume drama 情牵百子柜 as Zhang Dashan. She attended the Hong Kong Film Awards ceremony in 2006 as a guest presenter. In 2011 she acted in the stage play 情归何处 with Chen Xiuwen, Wu Huanyi, and others, playing a mother who contracted AIDS after drug use; in the same year she attended the premiere of 女人多自在.
