Introduction
Princess Yongjia was born in 1376 and died on October 12, 1455. She was a princess of the Ming Dynasty. She was the twelfth daughter of Ming Taizu Zhu Yuanzhang, and her mother was Consort Guo. Among her siblings, she was the older sister of Princess Ruyang. She was born in the ninth year of Hongwu (1376). On November 6, 1389 (lunar calendar, in the twenty-second year of Hongwu), she married Guo Zhen, the son of Wuding Marquis Guo Ying. In the twenty-sixth year of Hongwu (1393), she gave birth to her son Guo Zhen. In the third year of Yongle (1405), she was titled Princess of Yongjia; on November 21, 1424 (twenty-second year of Yongle), she was further promoted to Grand Princess of Yongjia. In the tenth year of Xuande (1435), she requested permission for her son Guo Zhen to inherit the Wuding Marquis title. She passed away on September 2, 1455, at the age of eighty. When Emperor Shizong of Ming ascended the throne, her great-grandson Guo Xun received special favor; he sought a posthumous name for Princess Yongjia, and she was posthumously granted the honorific name "Zhenyi".
