Mao Aihong was born in 1932 at the Fuyin Hospital in Changting. Due to He Zizhen's illness, Mao Zedong found a wet nurse for him, calling him Little Mao Mao. At the start of the Long March, the couple decided to have their child entrusted to Mao Qian and his sister-in-law He Yi. After the fall of Ruijin, Mao Qian, worried about the leak of information, secretly transferred Little Mao Mao elsewhere, ultimately losing him in the chaos of battle. His whereabouts remained unknown. On the eve of the liberation, He Yi made multiple efforts to find Little Mao Mao but was unsuccessful. In 1953, He Zizhen wrote to the governor of Jiangxi Province, hoping to locate her son, which led to Jiangxi cadre Wang Jiazhen finding a couple who had adopted a young boy named Zhu Daolai. Zhu Daolai bore a strong resemblance to He Zizhen, and after blood tests, she confirmed that he was her Little Mao Mao. Zhu Daolai was brought to Shanghai to meet He Zizhen, and the reunion was emotional. Later, he was sent to Beijing and stayed at the Zhongnanhai guesthouse. When Mao Zedong learned of the situation, he remarked that Zhu Daolai looked very much like Mao Qian in his youth, but unexpectedly, a female cadre claimed that Zhu Daolai was her child. Mao Zedong decided to entrust him to the people and the organization. Zhu Daolai was then taken to Shuai Mengqi's home and began his studies. He later attended Tsinghua University and worked in a national defense research unit, but suddenly passed away during the Cultural Revolution.
