James Sheldon

James Sheldon, born in 1757 and deceased in 1819, is an ancestor in a familial lineage that includes Asa Lord Sheldon, born in 1781 and died in 1869, who is his son. James Henry Sheldon, the son of Asa Lord Sheldon, was born in 1816 and passed away in 1871. His daughter, Mary Cornelia Sheldon, was born in 1842 in Martinsburg, New York, and died on January 8, 1908. She is the mother of John Sheldon Doud, born on November 10, 1870, in Boone, Iowa, a meatpacking executive and investor in Illinois and Iowa stockyards, who retired at age 36 and married Elivera Mathilda Carlson in 1890. John Sheldon Doud is the father of Mamie Eisenhower, who served as First Lady of the United States from 1953 to 1961 and was the wife of President Dwight D. Eisenhower.
