Wang Meihua

Wang Meihua, born in 1967, was once a well-known singer and entertainer in Hong Kong. She entered the entertainment industry at a young age and gained a measure of recognition for her outstanding singing talent. At 18 she married Zeng Zhiwei, who was then 21, and began family life. The couple had two daughters, one of whom is Zeng Baoyi. During the marriage, Wang gradually withdrew from her music career to focus on her family and raising her children.

In the late 1980s, Wang and Zeng divorced when she was 21, reportedly because of heavy work schedules and personality differences. After the divorce she lived alone in Hong Kong with her two daughters, facing life’s pressures and persevering. As a single mother she worked to raise her children while keeping the household stable. Despite public and media criticism questioning her responsibilities as a mother, she stood by her choices and her stance.

In 2005 Wang and her daughter Zeng Baoyi co‑published a book titled "Things I Can't Tell Mom," which reviewed the mother and daughter’s twenty years of life experiences. Afterwards they co‑hosted several food programs and released books such as "Ah‑Bao’s Beautiful Soups 1," "Ah‑Bao’s Beautiful Soups 2," and "Ah‑Bao’s Beautiful Soups 3." These works were well received in Taiwan and mainland China; in particular, "Ah‑Bao’s Beautiful Soups 1" was reprinted 15 times.

In her personal life, Wang was romantically linked to Wang Jianmin, who is 12 years her junior, and the two were photographed attending public events together on multiple occasions. The media once captured them in Taipei watching the film "Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons," dressed in matching couple outfits and displaying affectionate interaction. Although there were differing opinions at the time, Zeng Zhiwei expressed his blessing and hoped the couple would make their relationship public.

As a public figure, Wang Meihua’s life has had many ups and downs, with rich stories in family, career, and romance. From marriage to single parenthood, from music to hosting, she continually sought self‑improvement and growth through change. Her relationship with her daughter Zeng Baoyi has drawn public attention and recognition for its openness and effort.
