Kiyoko Kato

Kiyoko Kato (born December 25, 1874, Meiji 7 – January 20, 1940, Showa 15) was the wife of a Japanese politician and the spouse of the 21st Prime Minister of Japan. Her husband was Tomosaburo Kato, and she came from a viscount family.

She was born in Hiroshima Prefecture. Her date of birth is recorded as December 25, 1874 (Meiji 7), and she is documented as the second daughter of Emi Tetsunari. It is also noted that she was the niece of Matsuzaburo Kihara, a Hiroshima-based historian.

She married Tomosaburo Kato in 1890 (Meiji 23). Their daughter, Kimiko, was born in 1892 (Meiji 25). Kiyoko Kato positioned herself as a supportive family member alongside her husband's political activities, contributing to his public career.
