Introduction
Kaoru Hatoyama (Japanese: 鳩山 薫; born 21 November 1888, died 15 August 1982) was a Japanese educator and academic administrator. She served as the president of Kyoritsu Women's University, an institution established by her mother-in-law, Haruko Hatoyama.
Kaoru Hatoyama was married to Ichirō Hatoyama, who served as the 52nd and 54th Prime Minister of Japan between 1954 and 1956. She was the mother of Iichirō Hatoyama, who held the position of Japan's Foreign Minister from 1976 to 1977. Her familial relationships extend to her grandson Yukio Hatoyama, who was Prime Minister of Japan from 2009 to 2010, and her grandson Kunio Hatoyama, a politician.
There is a location associated with the Hatoyama family known as Hatoyama Hall (Hatoyama Kaikan), which is relevant in historical and cultural contexts related to her family.
