Jimmy Lin

Jimmy Lin, born on October 15, 1974, in Taipei City, Taiwan, is a well-known versatile artist, race car driver, and entrepreneur in the Chinese-speaking region. His family member includes his father, Lin Dexiong. From a young age, Jimmy loved racing; at age 10, he participated in remote control car competitions, winning second place across Taiwan, which fueled his dream of becoming a professional racer. At 15, he bought his first 50cc geared motorcycle through part-time work and customized it himself. During his adolescence, he was also spotted by advertisers while shopping in Taipei's East District, leading to appearances in commercials for Balan Facial Cleanser, Acer Computers, and King Car MaGuen Sars.

At 16, he was discovered by talent scouts from Flying Disc Corporation and signed as an artist. Before this, his father had declined offers from several record companies. Jimmy's first performance was at the Keelung Cultural Center, where he was awarded alongside senior artist Wang Jie. In 1992, he released his debut solo album, which quickly gained popularity with the hit songs "Not Every Love Song Has Beautiful Memories" and "Seventeen's Rainy Season." He then released his second and third albums, gradually developing his own musical style, and held four solo concerts at Hong Kong's Hung Hom Stadium.

In 1994, Jimmy released the New Year album "Hot Heart" and starred in the film "Spin Kicks." During his military service, he held a farewell concert at the Taoyuan Hotel and released a dance medley album. After his discharge, his career experienced a downturn. He founded Jimmy Studio, bought his first Ferrari sports car, participated in racing competitions, and won third place. In 1997, he signed with EMI Hong Kong and released new albums, gaining broader attention.

In 1999, Jimmy achieved success in Thailand's film industry, starring in the Thai film "Red Letters," which became the highest-grossing film of the year. He also successfully entered Formula racing, becoming Taiwan's first professional international race car driver, winning multiple championships. In 2000, he clinched victory at Zhuhai Race Track, beginning to emerge in China's Formula racing scene. He also established his own tech company.

In 2003, Jimmy received the International Outstanding Youth Award and was designated "Jimmy Lin Day" in San Francisco, USA. Over the following years, he continued to excel in music, acting, and racing, releasing numerous albums and acting in multiple films and TV dramas, earning various honors. Throughout his diverse career, he actively participated in charity work, focusing on anti-drug initiatives, traffic safety, and children's welfare.

In his personal life, Jimmy met model Chen Ruo Yi in 2005. They publicly announced their relationship and engagement in 2009, and that same year, they revealed they had a son. In 2013, the couple held a wedding in Thailand, establishing a stable family life. In 2015, he welcomed twin sons, Jenson and Kyson. In 2010, his father, Lin Dexiong, passed away due to a myocardial infarction, which was a significant family event. Additionally, in July 2022, Jimmy was injured in a traffic accident; after treatment, he gradually recovered and continued his multifaceted career activities.
