Kimi (Chinese name: Xiao Xiao Zhi), born on September 15, 2009, at Long Hospital in California, USA. His father is the renowned Taiwanese actor, singer, and race car driver, Jimmy Lin; his mother is model Chen Ruoyi. In 2010, Jimmy Lin publicly acknowledged his relationship with Chen Ruoyi and the existence of their child, Xiao Xiao Zhi, at his 35th birthday party.

In 2010, Jimmy Lin announced that Xiao Xiao Zhi's English name was Kimi, a combination of "Kelly" (his mother Chen Ruoyi's English name) and "Jimmy" (his father's English name), symbolizing family love.
