Sun Liya

Sun Liya was born in Sichuan Province, China. She received professional training at Sichuan Art School and was later sent to South Korea by a record company for short-term music training. Details about her early education background are not specified, but her training experience indicates a strong interest in music and a professional level of artistry.

In March 2005, Sun Liya participated in the first "Color MMS Miss" competition hosted by a local website and ranked among the top five in the national contest. In June of the same year, she competed in the "Top Ten Young Singers" contest in Shenzhen, performing Zhang Shaohan’s song "Aurora," which received positive feedback from the audience. Afterwards, in pursuit of her musical dreams, she moved to Beijing to start her professional career, but initially did not gain favor with record companies.

On March 20, 2006, Sun Liya received an interview invitation from the HR manager of Qiqin’s record company and successfully joined the firm, initiating her professional music career. In 2016, she appeared alongside Qiqin on the Zhejiang Satellite TV variety show "Who is the Greatest Singer," which drew public attention.

Regarding her personal life, Sun Liya caught the attention of Qiqin as early as June 2005 during a competition in Shenzhen, and she officially confirmed her relationship with him during an event in Shanghai in 2007. On March 18, 2010, she and Qiqin officially registered their marriage in the United States. The couple shares interests in playing golf.

Family-wise, Sun Liya’s father is a property developer in Chengdu, and she comes from a wealthy family. She gave birth to daughter Qi Xin in the United States in 2011 and a son in Taiwan, China, in June 2014.

In her public career, Sun Liya participated alongside Qiqin in the 2016 variety show "Who is the Greatest Singer." Concerning personal matters, on December 24, 2014, media reports stated that Qiqin was diagnosed with late-stage lung cancer. Sun Liya subsequently issued statements in interviews and on Weibo clarifying that her husband’s illness was caused by pneumonia mycoplasma and adenovirus infections, and that he has since recovered health and is currently undergoing golf training in Yunnan.
