Introduction

Huang Lian, born in Shantou City, Guangdong Province, is the daughter of Chinese expatriates in Thailand. In 1988, she moved south to Guangzhou and joined the Guangzhou Art Troupe of China Recording Corporation, thus beginning her artistic career. She continued to develop her career by heading north in 1996. She was once a member of a light music ensemble, which disbanded in 2003. During her time with the troupe, Huang Lian gained a certain level of recognition in Guangzhou.

She was previously married to Lin Yilun. Lin Yilun joined the Guangzhou China Recording Art Troupe in 1988 and initially worked in Guangzhou for eight years until 1996. Their relationship became public in 1991. Prior to that, Lin Yilun had lived in Bolivia for some time, leaving Guangzhou due to dissatisfaction with the new leadership. Huang Lian’s parents opposed her relationship and marriage with Lin Yilun, attempting to interfere, but ultimately they married. Their wedding was kept low-profile, with few guests invited. In 1993, Lin Yilun released his famous album "Love Bird," with Huang Lian providing financial support. However, as "Love Bird" became successful, their relationship gradually faded, eventually leading to divorce. Huang Lian has stated that she no longer remembers the exact time of their divorce, considering herself “someone who forgets things and tends to let go of burdens.”

After their divorce, Huang Lian chose to step away from the entertainment industry and live a quiet life. She now lives with her parents and her younger sister, Huang Tian. She candidly states that she remains single, as she is satisfied with her current life, believing that as long as her family is harmonious and her parents are healthy, that is enough. She prefers not to disclose details about her relationship with Lin Yilun, only emphasizing that they have no remaining connection. She emphasizes that she does not want to dwell on the past and prefers to focus on her own life.

Regarding her personal life, Huang Lian mentions a dog that has been with her for many years, expressing nostalgic feelings about her past. She says this dog has been with her for fourteen years and is about to retire but remains healthy and lively.
