Lin Yilun, born in Hebei Province, is a versatile Chinese musician, actor, and philanthropist. He was born into a musical family; both his parents were opera performers. Influenced by his family environment, he has been immersed in music from a young age, cultivating a solid musical foundation.

During his youth, Lin Yilun joined the Hebei Cultural and Arts Troupe at age 15, where he held various roles including playing guitar, singing, performing breakdancing, and stage setup and takedown, gaining rich performance experience. Two years later, he saved 4,800 yuan and handed all the money to his mother. In 1988, while performing in Shijiazhuang, he volunteered to join the Guangzhou branch of China Recording Corporation’s art troupe. Afterwards, he moved to Guangdong to pursue his career. During tough financial times, he taught himself to cook and worked as a singer in nightclubs. To seek broader development opportunities, he even traveled to Bolivia in South America. After obtaining a third-class chef certification, he worked at a local Chinese restaurant, continuing to sing passionately, demonstrating his love for music. After facing numerous setbacks, he decided to return to China to develop his career further, continuing to perform in nightclubs. There, he met music producer Zhang Quanu, who helped launch his professional singing career.

Lin Yilun's entertainment career began in 1993 when he signed with Guangzhou New Era Audio and Video Company and released his first album, *Love Bird*, officially entering the music scene. Thanks to the widespread popularity of the song of the same name, he gradually gained recognition and frequently topped music charts. In 1994, he received several awards, including the Top 10 Original Golden Songs award from Guangzhou TV Station for 1993, along with other national awards. He continued to release multiple albums, including *Fiery Songs*, *Love in 2000*, *Set Out for Happiness*, *Night Burning*, and *Joyful Sound Hero*, featuring styles that blend Latin, jazz, hip-hop, among other elements, attracting audiences of various ages.

In 1995, Lin Yilun made his debut at the CCTV Spring Festival Gala and continued to earn multiple music awards over the years. His work *Love in 2000* received widespread acclaim and several annual Golden Song awards. Throughout the 2000s, he actively participated in major cultural activities and concerts, and expanded into acting and hosting, showcasing his versatility. In 2004, he began exploring drama and film, starring in several productions, including movies *Father and Son*, *Pink Sunset*, and the stage play *I Love You*.

Aside from his music and acting career, Lin Yilun is also passionate about charity work. He has served as a goodwill ambassador for various causes, participated in major rescue efforts for floods and earthquakes, and has received numerous charitable awards. In his personal life, he is married to Xihua, with whom he has two children. He loves sports, actively participating in China’s celebrity football team and golf team.
