Yao Qing (born October 26, 1976) is the grandson of Yao Yilin, former Vice Premier of the State Council of China, and the son of Yao Mingwei. As a member of the so-called “second red generation” (children and grandchildren of senior Communist Party leaders), his family background has drawn periodic public attention.
Yao Qing is married to Zhao Jun (born 1981), a graduate of the Shanghai Sports School who later worked as an actress and model in mainland China. The couple has one daughter, Yao Yourong, born on September 6, 2013.
Although his lineage places him in one of China’s prominent political families, Yao Qing himself has maintained a relatively low public profile.
