Caroline Read French

Caroline Read French, who lived from 1820 to 1884, was the daughter of Louise Dorsey Read and the granddaughter of Louisa Gertrude Read Pierce. Her maternal grandfather was Benjamin Kendrick Pierce, an officer in the United States Army, and her great-grandfather was Benjamin Pierce, an American politician. Franklin Pierce, a former United States president from 1853 to 1857, was her great-great-grandfather.
