Introduction

Deng Jie, born in 1958, hometown in Sichuan. Her father was a senior figure in the Sichuan opera circle and was persecuted during the Cultural Revolution; he passed away later in the latter part of the Cultural Revolution. Her mother, Shen Ming, also known as Zhou Kaiqiong, was a Sichuan opera performer.

Deng Jie attended Chongqing No. 6 Middle School during her secondary education. In 1973, she entered Sichuan Opera School in Sichuan province, specializing in huadan (female dan) roles. After graduation, in 1978, she was assigned to the Sichuan Opera Theatre to develop her performances.

In 1984, she participated in the television drama "Dream of the Red Chamber," playing the role of Wang Xifeng, which gradually brought her recognition. In 1987, she reprised the role of Wang Xifeng in the TV adaptation of "Dream of the Red Chamber," becoming widely known. Meanwhile, she also played Xu Chaosheng in the martial arts drama "The Book and Sword, Gratitude and Revenge."

In 1992, Deng Jie took part in the CCTV Spring Festival Gala, performing a Chinese opera song-and-dance piece titled "The Scene of the Temple Fair." In 1996, Deng Jie married Zhang Guoli. The couple lived together in Beijing, even spending some time in a basement. Starting in 2005, they adopted their first children — a girl around one year old and a boy less than one year old. After marriage, they also jointly adopted another child. Their marriage has continued to the present.

During this period, she continued acting in various television dramas, including "Fragrant Acacia in May" (2004), "True Brothers and Warm Brothers" (2006), "You Are My Lover" (2012), and "My Assistant is Not Simple" (2023). In 2019, she participated in the variety show "Happy Trio Season 2," and in 2021, she was invited to serve as a "Guardian of the National Treasure" in "National Treasure Season 3."

In addition to her acting career, Deng Jie actively participates in social公益 activities.
