Samuel Arthur Peto

Samuel Arthur Peto was born in 1852 and died in 1942. He was the son of Samuel Morton Peto, a British politician, building contractor, and railway contractor who lived from 1809 to 1889. Ann Peto, his mother, was the daughter of Samuel Morton Peto and was married to James Alexander Campbell, a Scottish businessman and politician who was the son of Janet Bannerman, who died in 1873. Henry Campbell-Bannerman, who served as the British Prime Minister from 1905 to 1908, was also a descendant of Janet Bannerman.
