Introduction
Robert Sheffield was the son of Catherine Sheffield, Duchess of Buckingham and Normanby, who was the daughter of James II of England, King of England, Scotland, and Ireland from 1633 to 1701. Robert Sheffield held the title of Marquess of Normanby from 1711 to 1715 and is the subject of a memorial effigy.
