Introduction
Taoji Aso (August 26, 1857 – December 8, 1933) was a Japanese coal miner, entrepreneur, and politician. As the founder of the Tsukufu Aso family, he played an important role in the rise of the family. Taoji Aso served as the president of Aso Store and as the chairman of the Coal Mining Association. He also served as the president of Kyushu Hydro-Electric Power Company and was involved in managing several industrial and energy-related enterprises. In politics, Taoji Aso was elected as a member of the House of Representatives for one term. He also served as a nobility class member of the House of Peers with a large tax contribution. His family lineage includes the 92nd Prime Minister of Japan, Taro Aso, who is his great-grandson.
