Introduction
King Jianzhan of Huizhou, Zhu Youtai (1482β1525), was the second Huizhou King of the Ming Dynasty. Zhu Youtai was the eldest illegitimate son of King Zhuang, Zhu Jianpei. In his early years, he was granted the title of Prince of Xinghua in the fifth year of Hongzhi (1492). In the thirteenth year of Hongzhi (1500), he was renamed Crown Prince of Huizhou. In the third year of Zhengde (1508), he inherited the title of Huizhou King. Zhu Youtai reigned for a total of seventeen years. He passed away in the fourth year of Jiajing (1525), with the posthumous name "Jian" (Honest). His son, Zhu Huozai, succeeded him after his death, with the era name "Si".
