Maria Elisabeth Schmidt

Maria Elisabeth Schmidt, born in October 1757 in York County, Pennsylvania, is the maternal ancestor of Lyndon B. Johnson, the 36th President of the United States. She is the mother of Ruth Ament Huffman, who was born near Rowlett on December 10, 1854, and died in San Antonio on February 13, 1936. Ruth Ament Huffman is the daughter of John Smith Huffman Jr., born on May 7, 1824, in Bourbon County, Kentucky, and died near Rowlett on June 22, 1865. Ruth Ament Huffman is also the mother of Susan Ament, born on October 12, 1800, in Bourbon County, Kentucky, and died on May 18, 1831, in the same county. Susan Ament is the mother of John Smith Huffman Jr., born on May 7, 1824, and the grandmother of Rebekah Baines Johnson, born in 1881. Rebekah Baines Johnson is the mother of Lyndon B. Johnson.
