Introduction
Princess Chun'an (1453–1536) was a princess of the Ming Dynasty, the daughter of Emperor Yingzong. In the second year of Chenghua (1466), she was granted the title of Princess Chang of Chun'an by Emperor Xianzong and married Cai Zhen. Cai Zhen was of noble character; during the Zhengde period, he was involved in interrogating Liu Jin and accused Liu Jin of being a faction loyal to himself, which led to Liu Jin's confession of guilt. In the first year of Hongzhi (1488), Emperor Xiaozong promoted her to Princess Grand of Chun'an and granted her multiple estates and increased annual stipends. The princess and Cai Zhen lived together happily, reaching over eighty years of age, and had four sons and two daughters. Cai Zhen passed away in the 14th year of Jiajing (1535), posthumously awarded the title of Grand Protector. Princess Chun'an died in the 15th year of Jiajing (1536).
