Introduction
Takatsada Kukki (born date unknown - December 12, 1780) was a feudal lord (daimyo) during the mid-Edo period. He was the 5th lord of the Aobe Domain in Tanba Province, with the court rank of Junior Fifth Rank, Lower Grade, and the courtesy title of Shikibu Shōsudo.
Biography
Takatsada Kukki was born as the fourth son of the 4th daimyo, Takahiro Kukki. Since his eldest brother and heir, Takatsuna Kukki, was disinherited, Takatsada was designated as heir in Koryaku 2 (1752). Subsequently, following his father's retirement, he succeeded to the domain's lordship in Meiwa 3 (1766). Takatsada died on December 12, 1780, at the age of 52.
At the time of his death, Takatsada had a biological son, his third son Takatsuna Kukki, who was born just that same year. As he was too young to succeed, his successor was adopted son and son-in-law, Kuki Ryuuki, the seventh son of Tanuma Iyonaga. Takatsada's posthumous Buddhist name was Un-gai Raku Sho Ko Hoin.
