Introduction
B community (Mongolian: Бүрни, 1654–1675), of the Borjigit clan, was a leader of the Chahar Mongol tribe during the early Qing Dynasty. His grandfather was Lin Danhan, and his parents were Abu Nai and the daughter of Gülün Wenzhuang, a prince. Born in 1654, he died in 1675.
In 1669, the eighth year of Kangxi’s reign, Abu Nai, B community’s father, was stripped of his title and imprisoned in Shengjing (Shenyang) by the Kangxi Emperor. To appease the Chahar tribe, the emperor ordered B community to inherit his father’s princely title and to marry the daughter of Prince Aisin Gioro Yuele. Subsequently, B community remained active in the political arena as the leader of the Chahar tribe.
In 1675, during the revolt of Wu Sangui’s three banners, B community and his brother Lop Zang jointly raised troops to oppose the Qing, aiming to rescue their father. The Kangxi Emperor appointed Doroxin County Wang Eza as General Foshan to lead the campaign against them. The B community brothers were defeated by Qing troops at the Dalu battle, then on their way fleeing, they encountered the Shajin division of the Khorchin Mongols. B community, citing kinship ties, requested Shajin to spare their lives, but they refused; the two were shot and killed by Shajin.
Based on this incident, the Kangxi Emperor’s punishment extended to Abu Nai, who was ordered to commit suicide. Afterwards, B community’s followers migrated beyond Dali and Xuanhua borders and were incorporated into the Eight Banner system of the Chahar Mongols.
