Hu Zhizhi (Janice Hu), female, Han ethnicity, was born in China. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Cambridge in the UK with excellent results, having entered the university with a high school equivalency score of AAAA in A Levels. Her academic background provided a solid foundation for her subsequent development in the financial industry.

Hu Zhizhi's career began in 2001 when she took a position at Credit Suisse First Boston. After joining Credit Suisse, she accumulated extensive experience and successively held positions such as CEO of Credit Suisse China, Head of Investment Banking, and Chairman of Securities (China) Limited. During her tenure as CEO of Credit Suisse China, she promoted the enhancement and development of Credit Suisse’s business platform in China, laying the foundation for the company's expansion.

Since 2008, Hu Zhizhi has been instrumental in promoting the establishment and growth of Credit Suisse Securities (China) Limited, successfully increasing her stake to 51%, achieving control of the company. She gained extensive experience in promoting the localization and independent operation of foreign financial institutions within China. In 2020, she assisted Credit Suisse in capital increases for Credit Suisse Securities and subsequently served as the chairman of the company.

Following UBS Group's acquisition of Credit Suisse, Hu Zhizhi was deeply involved in the integration of the two firms' operations in China. In September 2024, she officially assumed the role of President of UBS Group China, overseeing the strategic layout and business development of UBS in China. She also concurrently serves as Chairman of UBS Securities Limited and Chair of UBS Global Investment Banking China.

Beyond her professional achievements in the financial sector, Hu Zhizhi also serves as Vice President of the Capital Female Finance Entrepreneurs Association and as a Director of ICBC Credit Suisse Asset Management Co., Ltd. Her professional capabilities are widely recognized within the industry. In November 2021, she was listed on Wealth Chinese’s “Most Influential Businesswomen in China” ranking. Her notable accomplishments include assisting Sohu in 2003 to complete one of Asia’s first non-coupon, zero-yield convertible bond financings for a Chinese internet company, and leading Credit Suisse in numerous major capital market transactions in China.

Hu Zhizhi also comes from a distinguished family background as the eldest granddaughter of Hu Yaobang, former General Secretary of the Communist Party of China. Her career in finance and her leadership abilities have contributed to the localization and internationalization development of foreign financial institutions in China.
