Wang Wenjun

Wang Wenjun was born in Zhanggezhuang Village, Fushan District, Yantai City, Shandong Province. Her family primarily relied on farming for their livelihood, and their economic situation was relatively difficult. Wang Wenjun's daughter, Wang Yaping, carried out China’s Shenzhou 10 and Shenzhou 13 manned spaceflight missions in 2013 and 2021, respectively. Wang Yaping's spouse, Zhao Peng, is a pilot.

Regarding her early life, during her childhood, Wang Yaping had to climb 50 steps every day to attend Zhanggezhuang Elementary School. To improve her family's economic condition, she passed her high school exams and became a female pilot, gradually leaving her rural environment behind. The family members maintained a low-profile lifestyle, avoiding media exposure and commercial collaborations. During the launch of Shenzhou 10 in 2013, Wang Wenjun explicitly instructed relatives not to accept media interviews. During the Shenzhou 13 mission in 2021, Wang Yaping was performing her duties, and Wang Wenjun and her husband were taken away from their residence in advance by their daughter to ensure the family's safety and privacy.

In terms of public image, Wang Wenjun adheres to a low-key principle, refusing commercial endorsement opportunities and not participating in public interviews. After the conclusion of the Shenzhou 13 mission in 2021, she returned to the village for a meal and to socialize with Wang Yaping and relatives, maintaining family harmony and traditional values. Villagers regard her as "the pride of the entire village," indicating she holds a certain reputation locally. Her family members maintain close relationships, and Wang Yaping's achievements have also brought a certain social prestige to the family.

Regarding related events, in 2013, during Wang Wenjun's absence from home, the local government employed others to harvest cherries on her behalf. In 2021, Wang Yaping returned to her hometown to visit relatives and was warmly welcomed by villagers. Her family members have always maintained a low-profile lifestyle, striving to balance family responsibilities with public duties, exemplifying traditional values.
