James Wheeler

James Wheeler, born in 1696 and deceased in 1753, was an ancestor in a lineage that includes Elizabeth Wheeler, born June 9, 1717, in Rehoboth, as his daughter. Elizabeth Wheeler was the mother of Henry Ingalls, born October 12, 1738, in Cumberland, Rhode Island, and who died around 1811 in Otsego County, New York. Henry Ingalls was the father of Mehitable Ingalls, who lived from 1764 to 1821. Mehitable Ingalls was the mother of Eliza Ballou, whose daughter became the mother of James A. Garfield, the 20th President of the United States, serving in 1881.
