Wang Jijun

Wang Jijun is the father of Chinese musician Wang Feng. His ancestral home is in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, though he has lived and worked in Beijing for many years. He served as a trombone player in the Navy Art Troupe of the People’s Liberation Army, making him both a soldier and a professional musician.

During his military career, Wang Jijun specialized in musical performance, contributing to military concerts and cultural activities within the armed forces. His wife, Gu Yuezhen, also had a military background, having served as a cultural soldier before transferring to work at a cultural organization in Beijing.

In 1971, Wang Jijun and Gu Yuezhen welcomed their son, Wang Feng. As a father, Wang Jijun was known for his strict musical discipline, requiring his young son to practice instruments for five to six hours a day to build a solid foundation in music.
