Introduction

Luo Jun'er, born in 1987, is the granddaughter of well-known Hong Kong entrepreneur Luo Dingbang. Her family background involves the family business; her father is Luo Dingbang. From a young age she showed a strong interest in the arts and in 2006 went to a university in London to study fine art design and photography. She completed her studies in 2009 and returned to Hong Kong to develop her career.

After returning, she joined the Hong Kong Trade Development Council from 2010 to 2013, gaining industry experience. During that period she also took part in other art- and design-related projects, gradually building her professional foundation. She later struck out on her own and founded her own production company, focusing on art and design.

On the evening of April 28, 2015, she was kidnapped in Hong Kong. The ransom involved was reported to total HK$28 million (approximately RMB 22.41 million). After the incident the police quickly launched an investigation and arrested the kidnappers the same night. A suspect identified as Zheng Mouwang, from Weng'an County in Jiangxi province, described as short in stature and with a prior theft record, attempted to leave Hong Kong via the Luohu border crossing but was discovered and arrested by police. Two other suspects were arrested at a hotel in Shenzhen. At a hiding place on Fei Ngo Shan, the suspect had reportedly dug a cave in the mountain to conceal the hostage.

After the case was resolved, Luo Jun'er held a press conference on April 30, 2015, telling the public that she had been rescued and was in good physical and mental condition. She said the kidnapping had not caused physical injury, expressed gratitude for her family's care and efforts, and asked the media for privacy so she could return to normal life as soon as possible. Specific details of the case remained under investigation and were not further disclosed.

As an art enthusiast and professional, Luo Jun'er faced the public positively after the incident and demonstrated resilience. Her life and career gradually returned to normal, and she continued to focus on exploring and practicing art and design.
