Introduction

Yuichiro Tanaka (born September 10, 1970) is a Japanese certified public accountant and tax accountant, as well as a businessman. He graduated from Keio University’s Faculty of Economics and, after passing the Certified Public Accountant Examination, has been engaged in the accounting industry. Currently, he serves as the Managing Partner and CEO of Trust Certified Public Tax Accountants Corporation, as well as Chairman of the Board of Trust FAS Co., Ltd. and Chairman of Business Vision Corporation. Additionally, he holds roles as an auditor for Fandango Co., Ltd. and Kaga Electronics Co., Ltd.

He was born on September 10, 1970. His father is Naoki Tanaka, a former member of the House of Councillors, and his mother is Makiko Tanaka, a former member of the House of Representatives. His grandfather was Kakuei Tanaka, the 64th and 65th Prime Minister of Japan, and his paternal grandfather was Nao Suzuki, a former governor of Kumamoto Prefecture as well as a member of both the House of Representatives and the House of Councillors.

He attended Keio Junior High School and Keio Senior High School, and subsequently entered Keio University’s Faculty of Economics, graduating in March 1993. During his third year at university, he passed the Certified Public Accountant Examination. In April 1993, he joined Showa Ota Audit Corporation (now EY ShinNihon LLC), and registered as a certified public accountant in April 1996. He left the firm in June 1998 and registered as a tax accountant in October of the same year.

In the early stages of his career, he became a director of Bunkyō Business Service LLC (now Business Vision Co., Ltd.) in July 1997, and later assumed the position of President of the company in April 2000. In October 2004, he established Business Vision Accounting Office (currently Trust Certified Public Tax Accountants Corporation) and became its representative partner. This firm specializes in M&A, corporate restructuring, and tax consulting, providing strategic planning, implementation support, and valuation techniques mainly for listed companies and companies preparing for listing in the Tokyo metropolitan area.

Regarding his personal life, it is recorded that when his grandfather, Kakuei Tanaka, left for China on September 25, 1972, at the time of Japan-China normalization, the young Yuichiro asked his grandfather, "Is Beijing that way?" and was told, "Over there." Before his grandfather’s involvement in the Lockheed scandal and subsequent court case, Yuichiro experienced moments such as being hit with sand at school. Additionally, after marrying in 1997, his relationship with his mother, Makiko Tanaka, temporarily deteriorated, leading to a period of estrangement. However, they attended Kakuei Tanaka’s 7th death anniversary memorial together in 1999, which helped to mend their relationship.
