Guo Xiaoyu

Guo Taiqiang, born in Taiwan, is the younger brother of Guo Taiming (Terry Gou), founder of the Hon Hai Group. On January 27, 2013, Guo Taiqiang held a wedding for his daughter at the Grand Hotel in Taipei. The wedding was a large-scale celebration at the time, with 100 banquet tables and many guests in attendance.

A number of celebrities attended the wedding, including Taiwanese singer Bai Bingbing and actress Guan Ying, demonstrating the event’s high profile and social influence. In addition to figures from the entertainment industry, important political and business personalities were present to offer congratulations. Former Taiwan president Ma Ying-jeou sent a floral basket to express his best wishes. Business representatives also attended, such as Acer founder Stan Shih (Shi Zhenrong) and his wife Ye Zihua, and Taishin Bank chairman Wu Dongliang and his wife Peng Xuefen.

The banquet was very large in scale: each table cost about NT$20,000, with an additional 10% service charge, making the overall expense considerable. The menu followed an eco-friendly approach, avoiding high-end seafood like abalone and shark fin to reflect concern for environmental protection and sustainability. Decorations were Western-style with a purple color scheme; each table featured candles and LED candle centers at a cost of about NT$1,000 per table, creating a warm and elegant atmosphere.

The wedding dress was provided by the Julia brand (one set), and Lin Li supplied three dresses. The wedding was organized by Laige International Wedding Consultants, with about 30 staff members involved and an additional 15 security personnel to maintain order. The total cost of the wedding was estimated at around NT$3.5–4 million, reflecting its grandeur and luxury.

The comprehensive arrangements, careful planning, and large scale of the wedding demonstrated the importance placed on the event by the couple and their guests, and it became a notable topic in Taiwanese society at that time.
