Wei Ziting

Wei Wei, born in China, was a well-known singer and public figure, famous for her contributions to the Mandarin music scene. She was married to Swedish pianist Michael Smith, but their marriage ended in 2003. During the marriage, Wei Wei’s personal freedom was restricted—her passport was reportedly held by her husband and she was threatened multiple times, which led her to leave him. After the divorce she returned to China and lived in Beijing with her three sons.

Her three sons are Wei Ziming, Wei Zirui, and Wei Ziyuan. The eldest, Wei Ziming, has been described as a “Peking University heartthrob” and has some online fame as an internet celebrity; the second son, Wei Zirui, is described as physically strong and having a handsome, sunny image; the youngest, Wei Ziyuan, was chubby as a child but has grown into a handsome young man. Wei Wei has said publicly that she had not given the children formal Chinese names, but on one flight she gave them English names: Wei Ziming was named “Saimington,” Wei Zirui “Remington,” and Wei Ziyuan “Vincent.”

Wei Wei and her three sons have taken part in many family activities together, including visits to amusement parks, skiing trips, and vacations. Thanks to her efforts, the three sons have grown up healthy and gradually become the focus of public attention. On April 1, 2023, Wei Wei celebrated her eldest son Wei Ziming’s birthday and posted photos of him online.

Professionally, Wei Wei has participated in singing contests and public performances multiple times, gradually returning to the public eye in the entertainment industry. She has also given media interviews discussing family and parenting. Despite setbacks in her marriage, Wei Wei continues to pursue happiness in her personal life and development in her career.
