Wang Xiaoyan

Wang Xiaoyan was born in Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province. Her father, Wang Peihua, once served as deputy director of a shipyard for a shipping company. After retirement he ran a processing factory, but later gave up the business to care for his grandchildren. Her uncle, Yu Xijiu, is a retired teacher at the Zhejiang Science and Technology Engineering School and has shown care and support for Wang Xiaoyan and her husband. Family members generally express respect for and support of military careers.

After completing her studies at the Zhejiang Science and Technology Engineering School, Wang Xiaoyan worked in the investment promotion department of the Jiaxing Port Area Administrative Committee. Later, to support her husband Chen Dong’s career in aerospace, she resigned from her job and moved to Beijing to take on the primary caregiving role in the family. As of June 2021, she and her husband have twin sons.

In family life, Wang Xiaoyan has taken on a large share of caregiving responsibilities, providing a solid backing that allowed her husband to focus on training and missions. She gave up her workplace career to concentrate on family affairs so she could fully support her husband. This support also reflects the family’s respect for and encouragement of military service, creating a favorable family environment for Chen Dong’s career development.
