Introduction
Princess Rongshou of the First Rank (Chinese: 榮壽固倫公主; 1854 – 1924) was a member of the Qing dynasty's imperial family and a political figure. She was born in 1854 as the first daughter of Prince Gong, a member of the Aisin-Gioro clan, and Princess Consort Gongzhong of the Gūwalgiya clan.
In 1865, she was adopted by Empress Dowager Cixi, who thereafter raised her. Throughout her life, Princess Rongshou held an influential position within the imperial court, serving as a confidant and personal adviser to Empress Dowager Cixi. She was granted the ability to speak openly to Cixi and acted as an intermediary for individuals presenting requests to the empress dowager.
Her familial and political status made her a notable figure within the Qing dynasty's court hierarchy. At the time of her death in 1924, she was recognized as the last princess by birth of the Qing dynasty.
