Introduction
Victoria Alexandrina Cotes (1840–1918) was the mother of Charles Grant, a British Army general. She was, by marriage, connected to the noble family through her relationship with her son Charles Grant, who was married to Sybil Grant, the daughter of Archibald Primrose, the 5th Earl of Rosebery. Sybil Grant (1879–1955) was a noblewoman, artist, and writer within British society.
